I had my dear friend Linda visiting yesterday. It was so good to see after a looong time. After catching up on each others' lives, drinking coffee and eating ice cream, we went to the big recycling center/ flea market, which I live nearby. She found a lots of nice things - lanterns and pillows etc. I found those nice yellow yarns (first photo) - don't know yet what I'm going to make but I loved the color. It's perfect for incoming autumn.
In that place there is also a small shop U6 - Uusix, there is a lots of nice ideas how to give a new life for all kind of old stuff. Here you you can see some. I bought those magnets (second photo), honey! and enkeli (=angel.)
And then this chair! I just got it. I don't even know from who, but it was left in our staircase and I wrote a note on it, that if they were going to throw it away, I would love to recondition it. And they gave it to me! It was my happy day:) I'm studying upholstering in school so this is going to be a perfect project. I love that chair!

ReplyDeleteAnu - En tiedä saako tätä myöntää, mutta minä odotan jo viilenevää ilmaa, pimeneviä syysiltoja, kynttilöitä ja VILLASUKKIA! Olen myös syysihmisiä, ehdottomasti. En tiedä onko syyskuussa syntymisellä ollut tekemistä asian kanssa, sillä että on syntynyt siihen pimeään:) Joka tapauksessa kesän kääntyminen syksyyn ei (ainakaan tänä vuonna) harmita.
ReplyDeleteKate - I feel pretty lucky about that chair:) Now it's just hard to decide what kind of fabric I'm going to put on it. Hmmm... But I think I've time to decide bacause I don't even know yet when I have time to start working with the chair. But it's waiting:)
pst. Arvaa mitä? Minäkin odotan syksyä. Odotan joka vuosi ja nautin tuulista ja hämäränhyssystä. Tämän aamun aloitin selailemalla Gudrun Sjödenin eilen postilaatikkoon tipahtanutta syysesitettä.
